Service Description
Instructor: Tobias Hangler Duration: 2 consecutive days, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. each Location: 8111 Gratwein (see contact / directions) Spots per class: 5–6 people If you've already completed a forging course with us or have made a few knives yourself, we can focus on advanced techniques and grinds in this course as we craft a knife with a tang construction. Working with San Mai, Shichi Mai, S-grind, hollow grind, bread knife, faceted handles, and much more can be practiced here. The focus of the course is on high-performance culinary knives and the technical aspects that are important for a well-functioning chef's knife. You can craft hidden tang knives with blades up to approximately 26 cm long. A variety of handle materials and high-quality carbon steels are included in the price to create a beautiful, functional knife. The additional costs for exotic handle materials and Damascus steels will be billed separately on-site according to usage. (Example: The additional cost for a 16-18 cm chef's knife made of 80-layer Damascus steel is approximately €110.) The carbon steel and Damascus steel knives crafted in the blacksmithing course are not stainless. Lunch is included in the course fee. NOTES Participation in the course is possible from 16 years of age with parental consent. People with pacemakers can only participate under certain restrictions. Pregnant and breastfeeding women cannot participate.


















Cancellation Policy
All courses can be rebooked or cancelled free of charge up to 20 days before the start of the course. In the event of short-term cancellations or non-attendance due to illness, we can refund the course fee if we have a doctor's confirmation. We ask for your understanding that the course fee cannot otherwise be refunded in the event of non-attendance.
